Police arrest four for raping pupil

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, Mr. Seidu Madawaki,  on Tuesday in Lokoja paraded four suspects  for allegedly raping an 18-year-old Senior Secondary School pupil.
He said the victim (name withheld) reported the crime at Ankpa Police Station.
Madawaki said the girl reported that she was returning from an errand when five young men accosted her.
She alleged that the men hit her with a charmed ring and abducted her to an unknown location in a bush.
The CP said, “The victim alleged that two of the suspected rapists forcibly collected her handset.
“She further alleged that three out of the five suspected rapists forcibly had carnal knowledge of her, while two others recorded the incident with their camera phones.
“The victim further said the suspects posted the recordings on the Internet and printed some pictures which they circulated in the town.”
The CP said some of the suspects had already been apprehended by the police and would be arraigned.
Two of the suspects – Bala Musa and Farouk – admitted to raping the victim after collecting her handset.
Farouk also said he took pictures of the act with his handset. He, however, denied posting the pictures on the Internet or printing them.
