Chigbo, 28, who resides at No.
54A, Isikalu St., Olodi Apapa, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of
indecent assault and unlawful defilement.
The prosecutor, SP Soji Ojaokomo, told the court that the accused lured the complainant into his apartment and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
Ojakomo said the incident happened on February 6, at the accused’s residence.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened sections 135(1) and 137 of the Criminal Code, Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Section 135 stipulates seven years imprisonment for convicted offenders while Section 137 prescribes life imprisonment if convicted.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja, granted the accused bail for N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case to March 3 for mention.
